Can anyone tell me what railroad and what country Canadian Locomotive Company construction number 77648 went to in 1950? The loco is a 4-8-2, road number 355, and the tender bears the initials EFA. We had a builder's photo just donated and the donor was not aware at all. My guess, just based on the initials, is Brazil, possibly to the Estrada de Ferro Araraquara, but I could be quite wrong.

According to this Web site you are dead on: EF Araraquara.

The Web site is in Portuguese but google has a good translator: all you really need is the chart at the bottom which is pretty self-explanatory. Has your engine with construction and road number in the roster.

This should tell you everything you want to know. From "Contructed in Kingston" by Don McQueen and William Thomson...

Great info. Thanks to both of you. I'll relay it on to the family.
