Orange Empire Railway Museum is hosting a Civil War Reenactment on July 8 at 11:00 am. Has anyone else tried this type of event? If so, how did it go?

The B&O Museum in Baltimore had Civil War days, and World War II reenactment days. They were highly successful at drawing crowds to the museum. Unfortunately, the husband and wife team that served as reenactment coordinators had a dispute with the former museum management, and are now volunteering their time in Harper's Ferry.
C'est la guerre.

Back a couple of years ago, we ran a trip for re-enactors that were re-enacting the movement of a particular Confederate military unit from Chattanooga to the La Fayette, Georgia area during the battle of Chickamauga. This was mostly low key due to the limited access to the rail line below Rossville and the fact that there were other re-enactments going on near the battlefield itself.

The Arcade & Attica RR does a Civil War reenactment each August. They have alway had sold out train for the event. I think that they have done this for the past seven years. The Civil War encampment is located north of the village and the train takes the passengers to the "battlefield". The train gets "attacked" as well. It's a great time.
This year the event is scheduled for Aug 19th & 20th. Check the A&A website - http://www.anarr.com/
