Post subject:  Victoria roundhouse

Victoria B.C.'s gem, a standard CPR design. It has heritage status and a group trying to save it, but land values are high and CPR hasn't offered to give it away. It's in need of some repair and this is earthquake country, which adds to problems. The similar CPR roundhouse at Vancouver was totally knocked down and rebuilt for the 1986 Expo, but was adapted to other non-rail uses. Victoria's is probably the most original and complete roundhouse in Canada. VIA RDCs still tied up outside last I knew.
