Finally, you guys have given us the tools to allow us to support this amazing, living, breathe-ing (almost like a steam locomotive) entity with more than just our words. Conside my donation on the way. I just thank the lord that I work for an employer who understands the value (both monetarily and educationally) of a board like this.

I've stated this before, but this board has been a god-send to those of us who work for museums who may not be entirely rail-orientated, but still consider it a large portion of the story that we tell. The wealth of knowledge here is increadible: it was this board that introduced me to people like Dave Lathrop, whose recommendation of rubber-membrane roofing for our combine has proven itself over a three year period of harsh North winds and Michigan winters; David Woodbury, for showing us what works as well as what doesn't in wood car restoration; William Buhrmaster and Boyd Owens for insights into EJ&S #2, the closest thing our car has to a sister; and countless others who probably have no idea how much their comments on this board helped us out.

Congratulations on five years of educating us all, and I think, bringing us all a bit closer to a sense of understanding and cooperation between VERY different point of context and view. Besides the thanks of yours truly, everyone at our Museum owes a lot to this board for helping us with the ability to tell at least a portion of rail history of our area in a coherent matter to railfan, historian, and novice a-like.

Sincerely,

Sounds Great! Where do we send the Money? or did I miss that in your news letter? How large a budget did you folks come up with? and how much would you like from each of us? Come on, don't be shy you provide a great service and should not have to cover the cost by yourselves.

If we can pay Todd 20.00 a year for Trainorders we should be able to write a check for the same amount or close to it

The donate link is at the end of the announcement, and also now appears on the RyPN nav bar. Here's a direct link:

The Pay Pal option is a good one, it seems most everyone is signed up for Pay Pal these days. It is easy and fast. Keep up the good work!

Glad to see it. Too many very valuable web resources are apologetic about memberships, fundraising, etc. and resort to popups, selling e-mail addresses, etc. This is worth paying to keep alive, and setting up a PayPal approach is an excellent idea as a nonprofit.

We may not do a lot of open postings, but staying 'tuned in' to what people are talking about and interested in is a daily activity. This is a very valuable tool for us.

Since RYPN is a 501.c(3), you should qualify for most corporate matching grant programs. Are you set up to accept matching grant forms accompanying individual donations?

Thats great news! Congratulations Hume,Bob and Erik! I've followed this site almost from the start, and it just keeps getting better and better.
One question...where are you planning on parking the donated locomotives and cars? ;)

An excellent question, and one we had not thought of yet. Let me look into it and get back to you.
