Are you still using that Royal typewriter duct-taped to a Philco 19" b&w TV to access the Internet?

Aren't those Russian vacuum tubes getting pretty expensive to replace?

Avtually, John, last week I had to replace my old laptop - IBM Thinkpad 650 - due to motherboard malfunction. I am now working on getting friendly with a newer used laptop - a Thinkpad 770Z. So far it isn't as friendly as I would like. It has two wierd things that open up in the center of the front, no idea what they are for. Lots of little plugs and slots and such mysterious things.

How do you get a computer and printer to start talking if they don't just find each other?

Better news - as Jason has reported the Savannah turntable and vastly turbocharged Davenport dinky are again functional even with modern retrofit electronic controls, automatic transmissions, and brakes which contain parts not made of metal. GOAT was domeless for an internal today anticipating the arrival of the Georgia boiler inspector tomorrow.
