New locomotive in Palmer, MA?

Anybody know the history of this 0-6-0 steamer at the station in Plamer, MA?

Previous location and owner below but original railroad unknown. The cowcatcher, headlight, and smoke stack are all HORRID!!

If you follow the link below, you'll see another photo of the locomotive, and some details. I only have the ownership history through 1980, but a note attached to the locomotive (click the Notes button) explains how it got to Palmer.

I'll update the database today to reflect the correct location.

I sure hope her new owners don't keep that awful fake stack on her, but presubably they would have had to remove it when they moved the engine, and put it back when they got to Palmer. What were they thinking???

What about the rest of the equipment in Hubbardston? The last time I was there there were some passenger and freight cars and a caboose or two along with the steam engine.

Palmer is a smallish town about 20 miles east of Springfield in south central Mass. It's right off the Mass. Pike (I-90). If you go there, do not under any circumstances miss the former B&A/ Central Vermont station designed by H.H. Richardson. Amtrak has runs on both lines. Well worth the visit.
