So what does this trade do for UP 440? We assume if this trade occurs, UP 440 will go to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Right now, the only way Union Pacific is in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is because they took over the C&NW. (Of course, how did MCRM get the 440 in the first place?)

Hi Everyone
As you know we have had an introductory meeting with one of the
executers of the scrapyard.She was very nice to us and has an
interest in the O. Winston Link Museum and other aspects of
railroad history. Gary Grey has been asked to contact NCTM to see if
one of their people will be willing to come up and evaluate the value
(historical) of the equipment for the Scrapyard.
we didnt push any thing too far but we did get permission to go on
the site and get a closer look at the locos and rolling stock so we will get a chance
to look at them with some experienced people soon.

Gary and I came away from the meeting with a good feeling that the
locos and other equipment are safe for the time being.
We plan to get together again with her after our Annuual meeting.
