<P>L.W. "Schmitty" Schmidt passed away this past week in San Antonio, Texas. The funeral is scheduled for 9:00 am Tuesday morning. Schmitty did a lot of work for streetcar preservation and restoration. He was part of the startup crew for McKinney Avenue Transit in Dallas, and he helped with the restoration of San Antonio Car 300, currently in service in Astoria, OR. <p>Thank you, Schmitty, you will be missed. <br> <br>Der HERR ist mein Hirte, mir wird nichts mangeln. Er weidet mich auf einer grünen Aue und führet mich zum frischen Wasser. Er erquicket meine Seele. Er führet mich auf rechter Straße um seines Namens willen. Und ob ich schon wanderte im finstern Tal, fürchte ich kein Unglück; denn du bist bei mir, dein Stecken und Stab trösten mich.<br>Du bereitest vor mir einen Tisch im Angesicht meiner Feinde.
