I was just checking out the Ohio Central homepage. I thought it was very interesting that OC restored 0-4-0T #3 considering she is too small to return the investment made to steam her up. I think it was great of the OC to do this, but does anyone know why they restored the little loco?
Thanks,
Alan
AlanL759@aol.com |

That 0-4-0T was originally, and it may still be, Jerry Joe Jacobson's personal locomotive. I believe it was the very first steam locomotive the railroad ever had. The Ohio Central steam program is basically a hobby for Jerry Joe. They do not make any money of it at all. The only time you will see the tank engine fired-up is for special occassions like Steam Fest Weekend.
robsterne@hotmail.com |

It's incredible that with so many railroads limiting steam on their lines that we are lucky enough to have someone who actually appreciates steam, let alone continues to add to their roster. Many thanks to the Ohio Cnetral.
davelecount@juno.com |
