Caanan depot funding

Pretty impressive funding for rebuilding the burned depot in Caanan, CT. Is this TEA-21 money or what?

No, TEA-21 and it's Transportation Enhancements Program is expired and closed.

What she got was a direct earmark--pork, in other words--for this project in the House version of the next Highway bill (the replacement for TEA-21).

Of course, the President has loudly threatened to veto this bill, and it has yet to be reconciled with the Senate version, so heck only knows if the money will make it into the final Highway bill reauthorization. Even if it does, it will be a direct earmark, not the "Enhancements Program" competitively-awarded money we used to mean when we used TEA-21 as shorthand in our circles.
