The man who wrote the editorial in Trains magazine advocating the preservation of an F40 will speak along with Amtrak's Jeff Mann and Jay McArthur during the formal transfer ceremony for AMT 307: This list's own, Sandy Mitchell. Our past president, Elmer Lam, will emcee the ceremony at 3 p.m. along the platform of the Master Mechanic's Office. Hoping to announce a last-minute surprise attraction later this week. Hint: Has wheels and runs on rails! If you guys want to eat BBQ Saturday night with us, it's the good stuff from Gary's in nearby China Grove. Oorder this week or next at 877 NCTM-FUN. I doubt the big guy will make it, but maybe El-vis will appear? Would be good to have an important railway preservationist to speak on the 200th anniversary of the steam engine, whilst Shay slobber fills the sky. Besides we've got to weather the backshop and windows now! Ya'll have fun with Tommy... we'll see him in October while y'all are on the way to Summerville!
