> Ongoing work at Thomaston station of > Naugatuck RR in Connecticut. This (sanding, priming and painting the canopy brackets) is an Eagle Scout project done by a young railway enthusiast. He is not only doing the work, he has organized others on his "crew". He first became aware of the RMNE-NAUG last year, when we hosted his Scout group for a railroad merit badge day. One of our volunteers, Mike Pronovost (a former Eagle Scout himself), has been guiding Robert Comer through the process of working with restoration work on this 1881 building. The original colors were carefully researched, and we found three different shades of green were used. The very bright green in the photos is a tintable primer, the darker green is a finish color. |
