I've heard the CSRM turntable at Sacramento has been restored to operation. Can anyone provide some details of the work?

According to their newsletter, they rebuilt the shop's transfer table. As far as I know the turntable is still as shown as in your photograph. When I was there in November, the 2-10-4 was still sitting on it.

The Turntable is indeed functioning although with only one motor (it needs two to function correctly.) In the mid 1990's the Espee/Upee removed the second motor for use as a spare on the Roseville turntable. When they heard we intended to reactivate the Sacramento turntable, they returned the second motor sans pinion gear. We are currently in the process of making said gear and hope to have the turntable in use this summer.

The shop turntable is 100' long. The one outside the museum is a 80' ex-UP one from Yakima, WA, installed in 1980. Is anyone aware of what is going on regarding moving the ex-WP Oroville, CA turntable to Virginia City, NV and now from there to Portola? Can anyone say when this was done and how long this turntable is?
