We are restoring an old Rock Island Combine car that was used on the Golden State until the late 30's, then converted to work train service. We cleaned the car out, the baggage end is ready for painting and have built new baggage doors, on the passenger end, we replaced the the windows, etc, taken pieces of the cornish which was metal and made fiberglas ones to replace the missing pieces and then pulled up the linoleum and the some of the concrete floor was missing and there was gravel, etc, so we have cleaned the floor and need to put something down. Once down, we are thinking about putting some carpet over it and then put the seats in. The seats are not orginal but will work. My questions is what type of concrete could we put down. It needs to have some flexablity and it will not be very thick, like maybe a inch to inch and half. Any thoughts appreciated. Drake Rice, Oklahoma Railway Museum (ORM).

Use Mastapave or any other 'flexible' concrete. I believe the original product is still available from a firm in PA and it is classed as a magnesium silica cement. This has been discussed previously on this board and I bet someone will be able to get the message by searching the old posts.
