Hello,

The recent thread on the 2100 was an interesting read.

Keep in mind when you look at the investment, the 2100 had just come out of an extensive rebuild in Hagerstown, MD prior to leaving the east. There has been very little run time on that engine. I visited Hagerstown after her rebuild and she was emaculate. As I recall, there was a significant investment in that rebuild.(Did I hear close to $1 million?). Barring expense from the new FRA regs., the sell price may not be too bad as compared to the 614 where you have the purchase price plus a significant overhaul to fund.

It would be great to see her back in the east - storming Locust Summit with the 2102. No, I am not smoking left handed cigarettes! Just a nice thought.

Cheers,

Randy

No barring expense of FRA rebuild because that will have to be done before the engine could run in this country again.

So I was told by a consultant who inspected the engine prior to sale, the overhaul work was extensive at Hagerstown. But, like many legal disputes, the paperwork of who did what, when, how, etc., had vanished and anyone wanting to run the engine in the USA was going to have to come up with a lot of money to get the engine re-certified.
