Is there a website that would have builder serial numbers for locomotives? Interested in any company (but mainly BLW, LIMA, ALCO, EMD), any time. Thanks! Joshua |

The R&LHS has copies of all builders lists of major and minor builders available for a fee. I believe contact info may be found at their web site, but the lists are not, to my knowledge, posted on the web. > Is there a website that would have builder > serial numbers for locomotives? I've tried contacting this organization and never got a response. Does anyone have a contact with the organization that they actually KNOW works? I have some ALCO and Baldwin data, what are you specifically looking for? Mike mike211@yknet.ca |

You need to be an R&LHS member and contact them at this address: "Locomotive Rosters & Records of Builder's Construction Numbers The Society has locomotive rosters for many roads and records of steam locomotive construction numbers for most builders. Copies are available to members at twenty-five cents per page ($5.00 minimum) from R&LHS Archives Services, PO Box 600544, Jacksonville, Florida 32260-0544. A list of available rosters is available for $2.00. " http://www.rrhistorical-2.com/rlhs/ eledbetter@rypn.org |

Please contact me off line as I have a large library built up over many years. I can probably help you out with most numbers. I have the R&LHS records and other back up rosters to double check some construction numbers. steamfan@crusoe.net |
