RR's are starting to hire by the bunches, to replace us who will be leaving over the next five years. Good pay, miserable hours, but a job with dignity and proper representation. Forget about weekends at the museum, but if you're interested, apply now. Seniority is everything on the RR; the more you have the better off you'll be.

Adventure on the High Iron
Yes pretty much all of the railroads are hiring especially the Class I's in fact the UP has trains sitting around due to the fact they have no crews for them. If your looking for job I would check the internet at the repective home pages for job openings. Senority is key and allows some job security. Unlike a scab railroad.
Long hours, weekends ( whats that ) bad food, and of course those long layovers in the hotel where you start getting paid after 16 hours.(Cabin Track). Incompetant management and working in all kinds of weather snow, ice, rain, and of course the train you get called for is at 3am. Family life lets see 70% divorce rate 20% higher than national level. See little Johnnys T-ball game forget your working B-trick in the yard. The old saying holds true you come home from work and the family dog bites you on the rump because he doesn't recognize you.
So if the above is appealing sign up now! Otherwise stay in school. 10 years in 27 to go I think I will go outside and throw up.
