Edaville and #250

I read the article in the "flimsies" on the Edaville auction and there was no mention of loco #250 on the list of items to be auctioned. Does this mean it is staying at Edaville? Also, wasn't this engine converted to burn oil back in the '60s or 70s? It sure would be nice to see that locomotive back in Mississippi. There was a nice article in a recent issue of Classic Trains and there were some good pictures of 250 and 300 (now on display in Hattiesburg, MS) at work in their final years on the B&HS.

250 is up up for auction too. As for where it ends up; anywhere but the scrappers is fine by me.

Ex-B&HS No.250 is #23 on the auction list. She is currently painted with "Boston & Maine" on her tender and is listed that way as well. This may be why you didn't spot her on the list.

She was never converted to burn oil.

#250 is one of my all time favorite engines. From my first experince as child when it was at the WK&S. To liking the way a Baldwin stock model engine looks. An ideal wheel arrangment for a shortline,tourist line or a model railroad.
My DVD of Southern Shortline Steam has been played many, many times, with the footage of #250 running along at a good clip, takes me into dreamland.
I, and many others I'm sure, would hope this engine finds a good home, where just maybe, some others could experiance this locomotive under steam.

I think thier talking about a MBTA F10 that was painted up Santa Fe. I'm pretty sure that it is MBTA but someone else might be able to confirm this.

This unit is ex-MBTA 1153, nee GM & O 883A.
