The Cincinnati Railroad Club's April 2004 newsletter, Headlight and Markers, had a news article about this rare narrow gauge gas switcher. Dr. John White of Oxford, OH. had sent a ad to the editor about this locomotive. The history of the company is interesting. Since the Car Company primarily built streetcars and interurbans till the early 30's. They apparently had a Cincinnati Locomotive Division (of Cincinnati Car Co.) that built a 10 ton gas motor.

The year of Manufacture is listed as 1936, but Cinti Car went out of business in 1931. It is listed as 36" Gauge and in dry storage for 60 years. Loco looks sort of like an EMD Model 40 with a huge center cab on 4 wheels, 4-speed transmission, positive oil-bath clutch, air brakes are optional.

Has anyone ever seen this locomotive or heard of one? I think a old issue of Short and Narrow Rails had a photo and letter in one issue about this locomotive and some other equipment?

I think $65,000 is way too high, but once in while someone thinks that they have some historic locomotive that is worth this amount.
