The June 29, 1929 issue of "Railway Age" magazine had an article titled "Mikado Type Locomotive for the Georgia Northern". The significance of the article related to the fact that this was the first Baldwin built with a welded engine and tender frame, along with a welded tank and cab. (Drawings of this locomotive also appeared in the 1930 Locomotive Cyclopedia.)

The finish of the locomotive is described thusly:

"The locomotive is finished with Duco lacquer of royal blue. Monel metal is used for the jacket bands and cylinder casings; the smoke-stack top, letters and numbers are chromium-nickel. The main and side rods are polished."

My question is: any idea of what the Duco lacquer royal blue looked like? Would it have been a darker blue or a more bright blue? Any suggestions on how I might find out? Any and all leads would be appreciated.
