Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the Bellows Falls, VT enginehouse turntable the Wolfeboro RR bought and installed in the 1970s? I was told that the WRR never actually used it.

This is what I've learned about this turntable from web sites and photos. I understand it was only used a few times. I would be interested in any additional info, such as the year it was moved and also to confirm its length. I've been told that the length may not be correct. My date is only based on the earliest photo I've found of it. If it has a builder's plate I'd be interested in who built it and what year.

By 1974 – An 85’ Boston & Maine turntable from Keene, NH was moved about 107 miles to Sanbornville, NH by the Wolfeboro Railroad tourist line. The Wolfeboro RR only lasted from 1974 – 1985, but the table is still there and in use as part of "Turntable Park." Most if not all of the yard trackage around it is now gone. This table had been offered to Steamtown USA before going to the Wolfeboro.

Just up the Wolfeborough branch on the left there was as of about 6-7 years ago the heavily vandalized and derelict remains of an outside braced wooden boxcar which had been full of stuff from the Wolfeborough Railroad. I recall seeing the electric motor for the turntable there. Perhaps with gears.

Can anyone tell us how long this turntable is? The 85' length mentioned has been questioned, and some have suggested lengths of 50' or 60' being more likely. Does anyone have the answer or know of someone who can take a measurement?
