I read that the West Penn Railways 832 ran again recently. This is a significant milestone for the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, as I believe it was the first car in the collection at Arden and has not run since it was driven to the property and parked. It is also one of very few intact curvesider cars in preservation.

All that I know comes from Bruce Wells' blog, at this point. Does anyone have photos?

West Penn 832 was the second car acquired by Pennsylvania Trolley Museum (then known as Pittsburgh Electric Railway Club) in 1952. The first acquired, in 1949, was Pittsburgh Railways Co. pay car M1 (Pullman, 1890). Those two, plus PRCo low floor car 3756, traveled under their own power from Pittsburgh (Ingram Car House) to the museum site over the closed but intact Washington interurban line on Feb. 7, 1954.

832 has a ways to go yet to be a complete restoration, but progress has been steady. Look for the car to be in operation in 2016.
