<P>From a few sources I have heard the 1218 refered to as "half a locomotive", refering to its days in stationary boiler service steam fittings to the rear cylinders were cut. Was this corrected when the locomotive was restored?<p>Thanks in advance<br> bing@epix.net |

<P>This was corrected. A lot of missing steam tubing to the cylinders from the smokebox was replaced as well. It was in the middle of an overhaul when the program shut down, so its yet again half a locomotive. I have heard that the CNJ atlantic at the B&O museum is half a locomotive too.<br> jblay@mail.odyssey.net |
