I pulled the Ronald Reagan post.

I feel like there were some valid comments made from both sides of the political spectrum, but also some inappropriate comments definitely outside the scope of this forum.

The potential for this to really digress into a flame throwing session is just too great.

Let me add one historical/preservation tidbit. Ronald Reagan was the last president to use the Presidential car Ferdinand Magellan (in 1984). I believe each of his successors rode a train while president. Does anyone have a list of what Bush, Clinton and Bush rode in?

Clinton had the Georgia 300 (rearmost) and the M-K-T 403 (second rear) on his re-election train.

I'll contribute one Clinton train. He rode a train primarily made up of MARC (Naryland Rail Commuter) equipment from Washington Union Station to the new Camden Yards (old B&O Camden Station) for the All Star game, the year the baseball park opened. The consist had the Amtrak office car 10000`on the rear, and at least 3 freshly reworked MARC-I coaches. They had just been overhauled and were ex-PRR 22 roomette sleepers. Redone first by PRR by Budd as NE corridor coaches in 1964 and reworked again, later as HEP commuter coaches). Two newly remanufactured (Morrison-Knudson) HEP equipped GP-40s pulled the train. I was working that day - I rode the second motor with a fellow from the FRA, and was nominally in charge of keeping the HEP on. My wife and son were on the train and she got the President to sign the train-orders.
