Weather damage to this 15-inch gauge line in Wisconsin, built on an old Milwaukee Road roadbed. Look under the Editors Desk column at the link below.

Further from the Park Trains list:

I just got back from the Dell's.
The rairoad fill did not wash out it was totaly obliterated.
The flash flood not only removed the 25Ft high fill but scoured 25Ft
off the vally floor, right down to bedrock.
The gap in the right of way is about 230Ft wide and up to 55Ft deep.
The debrie, including 60In dia trees, went down the vally to the
Wisconsin river. It crossed County Road N removing several square
yards of pavement and pushing about 300Ft of guardrail into the
river.
In the meantime the Railroad is running shorter trips out to the end
of track. The flood cut the track just past our marker 17 so we
still have about 5500Ft of track we can use.
No equipment or people were hurt, and we will just have to go along
and find out what repairs can be made.
