I managed to catch Canadian Pacific #2816 today at Wellsboro Junction. Beautiful engine. It was great to see steam roll through this area again even if it had a diesel in the lead. She was running about 2 hours late. More pictures are on my web page. http://trains.goshen.edu  timsb@goshen.edu |

Actually, the engineer on that train wasDoyle McCormack from SP Steam fame (also the owner/rebuilder of the PA) I caught it in Welland Ontario Canada (along with many others) on Saturday, and again crossing into buffalo NY on Sunday....It was a nice sight to see....I believe they use all thier own people forthe work, although Doyle was involved heavily inthe boiler rebuild.... Unless it has changed in the last couple of years most if not all the steam crew are under contract to Canadian Pacific. They are not employees. The support crew are employees, but the steam crew is under contract. With the exception of Al Broadfoot, who used to head the B.C. Rail steam program, they are all mostly Americans. As Ken said Doyle McCormack is of 4449 fame and Bill Settler, who is in charge of the CPR steam program, has also been involve with 4449 as well as SP 2472 and ATSF 3751.
