Can anyone direct me to a source for the old style 32 volt headlight bulbs, as used on steam locomotives and early diesels? This is for a diesel restoration project. Yes, I know that sealed beams are brighter, but appearences are important, too- Thanks-

Contact Paul Class, 1-707-459-1673. Paul has been reproducing old style bulbs.

I quote Rod Fishburn of ARM: "I received the following from Mr. Paul Class concerning the engineering and production of 30 volt, 20 to a string, bulbs for PCCs and other cars. He
states below that he will be ready to accept orders this summer with
delivery by fall. I suspect this will be a one-time opportunity so plan
accordingly. My thanks to Paul for pursuing this vital renewal part."

These may be as close as you get to 32 volt bulbs.

Thanks for the leads. These bulb will be used in Alco FA-1s and FA-2s, backdating them to appropriate 'as built' configurations, (overlooking the 26 air, of course, which no one outside will see-). EDM

The PCC lamps used 20 in series contain a device that shorts out the lamp when the filament fails. On that basis they would not make very satisfactory headlight lamps. They are also frosted, another undesirable feature for headlight use.
