The next operating day for the Swanton Pacific Railroad http://sprr.calpoly.edu/ will be Sunday, April 11, 2010. For information: http://sprr.calpoly.edu/pdf/Next_Event.pdf The Swanton Pacific was built by the late Al Smith, and has three one-third scale Pacific type locomotives which originally ran at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. Mr. Smith deeded his ranch and railroad to California Polytechnic State University for use in forestry and agricultural education. |
