The Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan is seeking applicants for the position of Project Manager. The duties of the Project Manager will include managing all aspects of the 1472 Service Day Inspection for Pere Marquette steam locomotive No. 1225 and associated firebox work. The successful candidate should have experience in project budgeting and management, excellent organizational skills, thorough knowledge of FRA Part 230 regulations, and familiarity with applicable boiler codes and railroad repair practices. Experience in working with USDOT on grant record keeping and reporting is preferred.

This project is expected begin by April 1, 2011 and to have a two-year duration. Upon completion of the project, the Project Manager will be invited to apply for the position of Chief Mechanical Officer.
