Post subject:  Rail for sale - again

I'm reposting our "rail for sale" because the buyer decided not to pursue the deal because it didn't fit his needs. More information about the rail bundle has been gathered as a result of the first offer and is presented here.

1st: it's 30-32 lb (per yard) rail, not 40 as originally stated to Rocky Hollifield (Craggy Mtn Line's President) when he bought it.

2nd: there are 105 lengths of which at least 75-80 are 30-ft lengths. Most of the rail has been painted yellow by the furniture plant, probably to inhibit rust, and have relatively smooth surfaces with no measurable corner wear. Some of the lengths, mainly the less-than-30-footers, are unpainted and do show a little more pitting but, considering this stuff has been in the weather for 40+ years, it still looks OK to us.

3rd: I now have several pix that can be emailed to any interested party.

4th: the rail is located in Asheville, NC and the buyer is responsible for all transportation arrangements once the deal is done.

5th: Based on what can be seen stacked on our flat car, assuming 25 pieces in the 25-ft range and 80 full-length pieces, the per-rail price would be $60 for full length and $50 for partial length, totaling $6050. If you take it all, the price is $5250 (+ your shipping expense). If you want only some of the rail, the per-rail price applies.

(A person contacted me about 2 weeks ago via this list asking about the rail, specifically noting he wanted 30# rail ... I replied to him that if this deal fell thru, he'd have first dibs but I can't find his email addy. If you read this reposting, please contact me ASAP.)

I will email pix to any interested party. We will also entertain a counter-offer but only if the entire bundle is sold at one time.
