Ten years ago during the weekend of President’s Day, a record snow storm dumped three feet of snow on Baltimore and by the early morning hours on February 17, half of the B&O Railroad Museum’s historic 1884 Roundhouse roof collapsed devastating 18 one-of-a-kind locomotives and rail cars, and closing the Museum for 22 months.

This President’s Day Weekend celebrate the rebirth of the historic Roundhouse with programs on the restoration of the damaged locomotives and a special presentation and book signing of Tragedy to Triumph by authors William Rockey and Pamela Coleman, the construction engineers involved with the entire rebuilding project.

As a special note of thanks on Sunday, February 17 in commemoration of this epic event, the B&O Railroad Museum will offer free admission to thank the citizens of Baltimore, Maryland, and the surrounding region for their efforts during the recovery and continued support that has helped remake the Museum a national treasure and world-class museum.
