RMNE has surplus one 1924 UTLX (Union Tank Line) 8000-gallon insulated tank car. In service until 1972, it was used from 1972 until 2003 as an indoor storage tank for liquid paraffin wax, by a paper cup company in Rhode Island. AB brakes, plain bearings, in good overall condition. The car will have to be trucked; it can be easily ramp-loaded at one of our locations. Located on our line in the Waterbury, Conn. area. Car goes "as-is, where-is" ("is" being any point on our line). Reasonable offers please, and serious inquires of course. Photos available by PM-ing me. Howard P. |

Perhaps this might fill someone's need for a photo freight tank car? The Pere Marquette group and WMSR both come to mind. |

Yes. And also might help if it was known if the missing parts (hand rail, ladder to dome, brake wheel, etc.) were at least still available. Les |

The parts that are missing in the photos were missing when the car came to us. The ladder and handrail can be duplicated form the ones on the car, without much difficulty. If any organization is interested, please contact us. Howard P. |

Hi Howard, Can the tank be cleaned and sealed? I could use it as water storage on my property - probably a long shot but I figure I'd ask. Regards, Art S. |
