We own former Canadian National business car number 93 (previously 23). It has been extensively upgraded and has been Amtrak certified for over 10 years. One of the few untouched parts of the car is the brake system. We are looking into replacing the original D22 setup with a 26C system.
I'm not adverse to welding and fabrication to install the 26C valves, as we have already done a huge amount of work on the car. The most recent project was installation of custom stainless steel railings on the platform end of the car.
Attached is a picture of the car from May, 2014 when it attended AAPRCO's mid-year meeting.
