The Minnesota Transportation Museum (MTM) is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization into the next phase of growth. MTM is a dynamic and successful all-volunteer organization that operates the Jackson Street Roundhouse in St Paul, Minnesota and the Osceola and St. Croix Valley tourist railroad along the St. Croix River Valley. MTM has a unique collection of people, artifacts and facilities that offers the public a rewarding experience and appreciation of Minnesota’s railroading heritage. MTM, founded over 50 years ago, is poised with opportunities and challenges to move into the future. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, and is responsible to: *Oversee the Museum’s Operations and Finances Grow our sales by 10% annually, increase our membership base, manage expenses to budget, and prioritize and guide the leadership of projects that meet goals. *Implement a Marketing Strategy Increase brand awareness, increase engagement with our patrons, and expand social media engagement with customers. *Lead the Museum’s Volunteers Increase volunteer participation, leverage volunteers’ skills and resources, coordinate and communicate across the organization, and cultivate a safe, effective and enjoyable environment. *Develop MTM’s relationship with the Community Cultivate relationships with our railroad partners and the community, and grow our educational outreach. We’re looking for a proven leader with: *10 years of leadership and management experience *Demonstrated people skills to work with a variety of volunteers and partners *Strong communication skills Operations management experience *Ability to organize and focus the use of the assets of the organization *Passion to convey and implement a vision *Willingness to face the challenges of a large organization and lead change If you have the interest and skills to tackle this position, please email your cover letter, resume and three references to jobs@trainride.org.
