The auction results have been published at: http://www.nsdash9.com/NSauction082016.html NS 5033 is reported to have gone to the Tennessee Valley RR Museum. Yay. Note that a couple of the other potential preservation candidates did end up with railroads that may be "friendlier" to other rail preservationists than most, including the Morristown & Erie, Lancaster & Chester, Buckingham Branch, and Reading & Northern. I might expect R&N (and other lines) to dispose of any "rolling museum" relics soon, including the last of the Lehigh Valley "Pup" SW8's, although there was probably a reason they were sought out and acquired, and survived this long......... |
