Anyone out there have one of those little walk behind Section Gang tie replacer machines that needs a new home? It doesn't need to be in running order, but I would prefer it to be complete. Shoot me a PM or answer me here. |

Are you referring to a hydronewer? |

Tamper-Canron marketed a machine they called a Section Gang. It was a small rig that one man could push down the track. Some models had a pair of hydraulic jacks and rail clamps to lift the rail off the tie, some had a hydraulic spike drive and some had both. Some were also fitted with a pair of rubber tires that could be swung down so a couple of people could roll it off the track into the clear. All of them had a one-cylinder Wisconsin engine driving a hydraulic pump. I'm interested in any version of the machine. Maybe some folks called it a hydranewer, but I don't recall hearing that term. |

You could also get a spike puller, and believe it or not an asphalt tamper for them. I even saw one rigged up with some quick connects for using a hydraulic impact wrench for track bolts, or any other hydraulic tools..... |
