Post subject: | American model 855DE Locomotive Crane |
We have an American model 855DE locomotive crane that we can offer for sale in "as-is/where-is" condition. The machine has only been operated on occasion over the past 10 years. The scrap weight of the machine as currently configured with boom is 150 ton. The easiest way to move the machine is by truck. It will take 5 truck tractor-trailer to transport the unit. Disassembly of the machine and load out would have to be done by our company due to labor and insurance requirements at where the machine is in storage. The machine is located in Morrisville PA. The current offer made by the on-site scrap dealer for unprepared scrap is $350.00 per ton ($350x150tons = $52,500). We may consider donating part of the machines scrap value to a non-profit 501C3 corporation that we agree with their mission statement. The unit does run, but it will require some repairs before it is placed into service. The engine is a 871 Detroit Diesel, truck assemblies 6-1/2" x 12" roller bearings axles, gear boxes in both drive axles with traction motors, GE 1519 main generator, set up with magnetic clutch for heavy duty hook work, 55 foot boom heavy duty boom 50' main & 5' offset jib. Please note the scrap price of $350.00 a ton is what we are actually being paid for a 840DE non-operating locomotive cranes that is siding on the same siding that will be cut up within the next 3 weeks.
