I am not associated: https://www.facebook.com/groups/strates ... 9236575171 "Marty Biniasz Admin February 19 at 5:44 AM As Marketing Director for Strates Shows, I spent time at our Taft, Florida Winter Quarters with railroader & consultant Alan Maples learning about the construction differences between Pullman-Standard & Budd-manufactured railcars and what is needed to restore 80+ year-old-rolling stock to active use. The stainless-steel Budd passenger cars in the Strates Shows fleet were originally part of the New York Central Railroad’s Empire State Express and entered service in 1941. They include: JESX 101, ex-NYC/ESE no. 2578 CHARLES S. WHITMAN 56-revenue-seat coach. JESX 102, ex-NYC/ESE no. 2576 WILLIAM H. SEWARD 56-revenue-seat coach. JESX 103, ex-NYC/ESE no. 2569 56-revenue-seat coach. JESX 104, ex-NYC/ESE no. 2577 DANIEL D. TOMPKINS 56-revenue-seat coach. Cars on the Empire State Express were named after former NYS Governors. Strates acquired the cars in 2011 from the Batten Kill Railroad. Seating was removed and cars converted into dormitory space. Cars were last used in 2013. Current stainless-steel fleet also includes a former Royal American Shows Pullman Standard baggage/power car. All are currently stored at Winter Quarters. Cars are currently for sale.
