JJJ sold HIS railroad for millions, and has used HIS money to build his AOS. I have never been to Altoona, but I strongly suspect they suffer as a lot of museums do. Lots of things need done, and not much to do it with.

I'm sorry I ever mentioned JJJ, i could never compare his roundhouse to Altoona. Anyways, altoona has potential if and only if they get 1361 in one piece, and restore the various passenger cars they have for excursions. They could be useful for an engine like 5550 when it is built, as they already made deals with the penn valley railroad. This museum is one of the better museums I have seen, and if they do what I said up there, I'm happy. I don't even care if 1361 ever operates again, I just want it to be in one piece.

As for 2100, that's more of a situation for JJJ to take care of. He even stored the locomotive on his property before it was moved to Tacoma. But he doesn't have to. What website said RDG 2100 would be moved to Cleveland? Now that would interest me, as Sugarcreek is close by to Cleveland.

I was there in May, 2014, and the infrastructure is largely complete. The collection needs repair, the buildings need finishing. This constant kicking the Museum while it is down is purposeless, unless the goal is to gather more kickers to deliver more kicks.
Yes, the K4s is a nearly unique railroading treasure. Yes, it was a botched renovation. Yes, we all want to see 1361 rebuilt, restored, and steamed, but will settle for an assembled locomotive.
In the meantime, initiatives to correct the deficiencies that exist might be undertaken at the grassroots level, and directed to refurbishing the GG1, repairing the two observations, resurfacing and lettering any of the historical equipment. Get involved in a solution.

The fact that he stored it doesn't really have anything to do with the situation. You're seeing correlations in sketchy information that don't exist. And, to boot, dragged two completely separate organizations (Strasburg and AOS) into the discussion unnecessarily, and then immediately backpedal/deflect when countered. So, why bring them in at all? Logic is in short supply here.

EDIT: Also, after re-reading, de-railing the thread from speculation regarding 2100 moving back east, into your own critique of Altoona. There's no connection, so why?

Occasionally it helps if one actually reads the thread in it entirety before commenting.
