Post subject:  Photo From Japan in 1953

Just a photo that turned up of a US serviceman in the cab of a Japanese steam locomotive. . .of interest are details of the side of the cab, including assorted data plates, a cast number plate, and what looks like a token or staff catcher on the side, too. And of course, check out how the Japanese system had uniformed enginemen in the steam era:

Interesting photo. It is a double treat if you, like me, are into history as well as trains. It is a view of the US-Japanese relations post-WWII.
