Well, for those of you that though 611 was going to be the centerpiece of this event, according to Railfan and Railroad Magazine through Facebook, Doyle McCormack is bringing NKP 190 east for the event. There's no information yet on NCTM's website or the Facebook event, so take it how you will. |

I saw 190 at National Train Day at Portland last weekend. She was looking really nice. I have no idea how complete she is, operating-wise. |

When you consider the efforts to put NKP 190 in a cross-country consist for a single weekend display, this is a big deal in terms of contributions by the partner railroads and/or the event sponsor. Nice work by the event planners and Doyle. Wesley |

Yeah, seems like a LOT of work for a short event. Normally I laugh when people say that someone will give, 'exposure,' but in this case, it might lead to donations to getting 190 running. She had all new MU hoses in Portland on May 10th, now I know why. Can you imagine the double take any train fan made at the sight of an ALCO PA going past in a consist? |
