I was just in Alaska last month and rode the WP&Y for the second time in my life (the first was 15 years previously, almost to the day). It's funny how few books about the RR there are out there. I have Stan Cohen's book, but are there any better histories of the line with lots of good photos? |

Mulvihill wrote a milepost guide, and the best book about the railroad I've found was written by Roy Minter. |

You may also be interested in "Narrow Gauge Railways of Canada" by Omer Lavalee. It has a chapter on the White Pass, as well as many photo's in the expanded 2005 reprint. ISBN-13: 978-1550418309 I'm looking forward to my first visit in September! Pat Hosford |

The best historic resource I have read on the WP&Y is the book, "THE White Pass - Gateway to the Klondike" by Roy Minter. It was published in 1987 by the University of Alaska Press. It's over 300 pages long with some photos and is a REALLY great read if you're interested in learning about the building of the WP&Y. |
