I saw on MountainRailWV that the Cass-Durbin connection missing bridge is still missing.
That bridge was to be replaced in 2019 and the line opened.
I have searched far and wide and sent emails to everyone listed as a contact at Mountain Rail with no reply. Sent emails to folks at WV gov, with no reply.
Anyone have any further incite in to what is going on? I work for a company who builds bridges, and cannot be more than a couple month job to construct, but there are no RFP's or contract info I can find.
The state may be planning on building this bridge themselves but??
Somebody has to know something.

The WV Dept. of Transportation is the agency responsible for installation of this bridge. Of course, when government gets involved, the timeline (and often price tag) gets stretched out. The hope is to have it in place by this fall. The D&GRRR has a new Facebook page that details their restoration efforts. You don't have to have a Facebook account just to browse it.

Thanks for the link.
Does anyone know if the state forces will be building the bridge, or will the state contract it out?

Unless they've removed it, the bridge is still sitting in place. I believe the piers suffered some damage and the bank where the railbed used to be downstream of the bridge was totally washed away by the flood. For whatever reason, the state of WV determined a new bridge was in order.
