Washington State DOT was to have auctioned off its Series Six Talgo trainsets once utilized in AMTRAK Cascades service. Were they successful in getting the equipment disposed, and who acquired the set(s)?

WSDOT is selling passenger rail cars previously used in Amtrak Cascades service. These Talgo Series VI cars are configured as two 12-car trainsets and three spare cars. They were manufactured in 1998 and are being sold "As Is” and “Where Is."

Bids for the passenger rail cars must be submitted by August 3, 2020 using the bid form found in Exhibit E of the bid package.

The winning bidder will be announced in early September.
