Post subject: | DL&W Delaware Lackawanna Western Brass Bronze Identification | |||||||
Hi! I recently purchased this item to utilize as a paperweight. A friend called my attention to this being a DL & W (Delaware Lackawanna and Western) railroad train part? A brass or bronze babbitt? A plain journal bearing? I don't know but would love to find out from one of the many knowledged and experienced out there when it comes to our local railway history. The front is embossed: DL & W C5198. It measures 3 and 1/8" in width, 3 and 7/8" in height, 1 and 3/4" in depth, 2 and 3/4" in diameter. It weighs 3 pounds, 5.6 ounces. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated as I am interested to know it's story and history. Thank You first and foremost.
