How come did you camed inlove with the trains or other railed vehicles? I do like trains since I was kid. Had scale model train (most of the rolling stock I still have). But this isn't the only explination. Probably it's a genetic stuff. The only great-great grandfathers that I met (unfourtenly he dided when I was kid) was a station master long time ago, so it could be that too. These are reasons, problably. I had car secknees too, so for my health the train was better. No matter what, I still do preffer the train in most cases, trough all that in some cases I find more convenient the auto transport. Streetcars (trams in Europe), I like them since I was a kid too. No, I don't want to ride the bus. Still today, in form of love, my prefferences are streetcar, trolleybus, bus. |

I grew up in the city that was the center of steam railroad preservation in the southern United States-Chattanooga, Tennessee. My parents took me to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum on occasion and on museum sponsored excursions. The railroad was everywhere-all of the major roads into town crossed over or under the old Southern Railway. The minor league ballpark (at the time) was located next to the railyard. I started volunteering in train service at the railroad museum at age 16. The next year I got hired as paid employee. At 18 I got qualified to run as Conductor on the Norfolk Southern. Got to work with some great folks and pioneers of steam preservation. |

Very nice happening. Probably I would have to say more, but I can't express a longer feeling now. Well, no wonder it's that song "Chattanooga choo-choo". Your parents did a good job starting your passion. Then you camed yourself into it. I wish more parents would do that. |
