| Post subject: | Gauntlet Bridge |
Chasing the UP 844 northbound on the old KO&G (MP), between Durant and Muskogee, before the UP acquired the Katy. As we chased it north came upon a railroad gauntlet bridge, protected by absolute signals and I would assume distant signals. Much like a railroad crossing at grade. In fact I got to work one in OKC, on the ‘Shawnee’ job, that used the old Rock Island crossing of the FRISCO. Can’t remember where the gauntlet bridge was, anybody? |
