| Post subject: | De Queen & Eastern question |
Hi all. I'm hoping that somebody in this area might be able to shed some light on what I experienced last month. I was with a good friend on a road trip that had us driving through De Queen, AR on our way North to shoot the KCS. Recalling that there is a short line here, I was on the lookout for it and soon came upon a pretty impressive operation right in town along with a string of locomotives coupled back in the yard. We drove up and I was all prepared to head to the office to ask permission to photograph when we ran into this smiling employee who went on to tell us that the owner would absolutely not grant same account of some recent troubles with theft on the property. We talked for awhile and the guy continued to be pretty pleasant, but also told me that chances of getting the owner to reconsider were nil. We thanked him and left. Anybody know just how long this situation has been in effect? Thanks for any help. |
