Two conductors on the Carolina & North-Western bought their old wooden cabeese in the early 1950's when the line's roster was updated with Southern-style baywindow ones.

Tom Hartley of Lenoir, NC used his as a workshop and for keeping beehives. In the late 60's, a generator used to run a heater for the bees caught on fire and burned the hack down.

JT Lynn of Hickory, NC bought his and turned it into a workshop/lawnmower garage. It lasted until the late 1990's when the owner of it then offered it to the local county historical association. However, they didn't move fast enough and the idiot didn't even make a phone call to them before tearing it down. Ranks up there as one of my great preservation regrets in letting this one get away. SIGN. At least I got the doors, cupola windows, and some grab irons off her.
