Has anybody heard anything about this group?

After they had thie caboose burned; did they go out of business?

They still have a variety of narrow and standard gauge equipment in the Valmont site.

I can't find any web site activity that is less than several years old.

Has any decision been made on the #30/74 locomotive; last I knew she was still at Strasburg, Colorade and in need of a lot of work before she might steam again.

Everything I have seen that emerged from Strasburg, CO also needed a lot of work before it could be useful as well.

At one point the CNY NRHS purchased a flat car from these yahoos and they told us that the car was interchange ready and when BNSF got the thing it needed 11k in repairs to make it ready to move. They also told us it was built 15 years later than it had been. So if you do have to deal with them do not trust a word they say! They also just hung up when we called to get some of our money back. I don't think they are a very good group so they may have ticked off to many.

According to a City of Boulder (Colorado) web-posting from 2005, the Boulder County Railroad Historical Society appears to have been established in 1997 to assist the City of Boulder with its narrow gauge equipment display.

The BCRHS is still up and running. We are a small group and have put all of our effort over the past few years into working on our equipment and display site. As a result, items such as the website and newsletter have fallen to the wayside. The reality has been that actually working on the trains is more fun than writing about working on them so that is where our energy has gone. To respond to some of the questions-

C&NW 30/C&S 74/RGS 74 is now at Westside Locomotive works in Denver Colorado undergoing a cosmetic restoration. The restoration has been delayed as a result of the locmotive being caught up in the vortex that is the Georgetown Loop Railroad. That said, the locmotive is in good hands, is stored indoors and is being worked on daily.

The aforementioned barbequed caboose (D&RGW 04990) is owned by the City of Boulder and has been stored at our Valmont site for the past year awaiting the city to make a decision. We have not been allowed (by the City, who will not fix it themselves either) to do any work on it aside from removing the debris left inside from the fire. Hopefully this will soon change.

As for "The Man", I am sorry that he is such a rude and unhappy person. As usual there are two sides to every story, however I will not bore this group with a rehash of this particular fiasco.

I am not surprised that you are the person who answered my question.

I hope that things start moving again for the group.

The #30 locomotive has a long and interesting history. i hope that she gets to be seen by folks some day.

Do not think a cosmetic restoration is a defeat! There are other many other Colorado locomotives that can and do run.

The caboose is a challange; but if you have not looked at the web site on the D&RGW 0579 you should do so!

The only piece of metal on that car was the basketball hoop nailed on the side. That was some restoration.
